About CVMS

Chartiers Valley Middle School has approximately 800 students in Grades 6-8. Teaming, cooperative learning, and acquiring skills through exploration and interdisciplinary instruction are among the prevailing practices of teaching and learning at this level. The Middle School and High School are located on a single campus, but the students are separated by the layout of the buildings and bell schedules. They do share an Olympic-size swimming pool, and auditorium.

The Middle School is unique in its curriculum perspective, focusing on applying concepts to the real world. The faculty challenges students to become critical thinkers and effective problem solvers. Teachers address student needs as they leave the elementary classroom to prepare them for the educational program which they plan to pursue at the high school. The school centers on the unique intellectual, emotional, social, and physical needs and characteristics of each student.
